I'm building a gaming pc and am wondering how good are the components ive chosen, and could i get parts just as good but cheaper, and i would rather stick with and intel processor.

More about good build
  1. If you can squeeze a small bit more for your graphics card you could get a 7870 which is slightly better than the GTX 660, OCs to the point where it nearly matches a 7950 in performance and you even get one or two free games with it.

If you insist on Nvidia though, it's a good list.
  2. You should look for a better corsair PSU. The bigger corsair the longer it'll be future proof for video cards. I think you'd be better going with the 2500k and putting that extra money into the PSU or GPU.
  3. That looks good to me. If you can add £80 to your budget, an SSD would be an excellent addition, a 120GB Vertex 4 maybe or Samsung 830. Make sure you get a 3.5" adapter for it if the box doesn't include one. Good retailer choices there. I'd also recommend taking a look at ebuyer.com, dabs.com and novatech.co.uk.

That PSU will work; however, you'll be paying for a better PSU when you move up a few tiers in the video card department.
