Radeon HD 5970 driver

I have been reading that perhaps I should run an older driver in the 10.0 to 11.2 range for my Radeon HD 5970. I run Windows 7, i7 920, 9 gig RAM on an Alienware (Dell). Power supply is 850-875, can remember which.

So should I stick with latest, greatest drivers or go back to older version? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
