Pc powers down

Hello,
When starting my computer it powers down after the beep. the longer I try andthe power supply runs the farther I get into the startup. Finally it starts up Windows 7.
When on line when I swich functions it shuts down. Laely it shuts down every night over night.
I'm using a Biostar 870-U3 MB, AMD Phenom II X4 955 CPU, Crucial 2 GB DDR 3 1333 Ram- 4 sticks.
I had problems with the OS when starting and had to register it by phone. Could that be a problem?

I tried a new power supply too. I'm thinking the motherboard

It does this on a cold start up as quick as 10-15 seconds. I've been reading my motherboard has lots of video problems. I was considering a different mobo. What do you think?

depends if you think it will be cost effective for you if it does the same thing with a new motherboard the problem could be the cpu. have you checked that your ram is working ok and seated properly ?

I bought a new mobo and it's coming soon. My CPU should be under warranty. I'll just have to see how thing work out. I'll let you know in a few days.
