Hi, I need help with my graphics card install

I'm attempting to upgrade my graphics card to from a Palit Geforce 8400gs 512mb to a Point of View Geforce9800GT 1GB DDR3 HDMI.

I recently upgraded the rig to

CPU fan: Artic Cooling Freezer13
PSU: Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500W affair.
Motherboard: ASROCK Conroe 945G-DVI (Bios = V2.00 Dated 10/13/2010 latest version)
RAM: 2 x 1GB DDR2 667 (although CPU-Z tells me this is running at 333Mhz??)
Operating sys = windows 7(64)
Monitor = Cintiq 24HD (not VGA compatible)
Some other buckshee monitor for VGA
Problem is when I change put the new card into the PCIx16 slot and power on, nothing happens the screen shows 'no input signal' even when connected to VGA output from the Motherboard.

Hoping this is down to software and not hardware incompatabilities. I've been learning about hardware the hard way recently and it's getting expensive.

Any suggestions??

Cheers

Padge

  1. Should have mentioned my CPU is a Pentium D 925 Presler 3.00Ghz

    Vital clue left out there!
  2. Workin my ass off trying to get this thing to work. PC won't boot with GF9800GT installed, it lights up but nothing else.

Just tried the Bios flash but no joy.
  3. Is it a new or second hand card?
  4. Hi, yep it's a secondhand card from the bay of fleas. Think it's a gonner?
  5. It's knackered, I'm going to take it into the garage and cremate it, then dance on its cremains
