I'm doing my "revised" cards charms, adding the information in the
player guide, and I have a question
- does the piercing damage of "Essence Fangs and Scales Technique" is
the only effect of the charm (PG208), or does it still do also the
soak bonus and the lethal damage (CRB160) ? And is it incompatible
with weapon only, or with weapon and armor ?

(I have lot of other questions on "where are some of the weapons I can
see the stats in the PG described ?", but I need to make a list of the
names, first)

Reading Blood and Salt, it seems to me that usurpation was only six
hundred years ago. Is there a timeline, somewhere ?

I'm going to make my players meets two abyssal, who wants to get back
a soulsteel daiklave the players took on the corpse of another
abyssal :
- the first one is a stealth specialist, who'll try to steal back the
daiklave.

If he's intercepted, like I hope, he'll use an essence created weapon
(don't remember the charms name) which has an infinite rate. He'll go
for the biggest numbers of action possible, and he's call his backup :
- a huge, hand to hand abyssal fighter, who'll try to grab an
opponent, soaking the attacks of the other opponents, laughing madly.
But I don"t have any picture for him.. Please ?

Technically, my players (3) are beginning exalts, and I think I'll buy
the abyssals with 50 to 100 xps. I'll post their sheets here when
done.

It seems the additional text adds to the original wording instead of
replacing it, since Essence Fangs and Scales Technique presumably still
increases soak. (Note that the Charm is explicitly incompatible with
weapons.) The full wording might read something like this:

"For the rest of the scene, the character's Martial Arts attacks do
lethal damage, and she soaks lethal damage with her bashing soak total.
While this Charm is in effect, the character's unarmed attacks do
piercing damage (that is, halving the soak provided by armor). This
Charm is incompatible with the use of weapons."

The addition of always-on piercing damage makes Snake Style an
extremely powerful martial art, IMHO.

The Usurpation took place around 1,500 years before the "now" of
/Exalted/ (RY 768). The Shogunate seized power from the Solar
Deliberative, ruled for about seven or eight hundred years, and then
disintegrated during the Contagion and the subsequent Wyld invasion.

I like the illo. Crystal-spiky armor = neat.

Resplendent Shadow Blade.

I look forward to seeing them.
