In what way would that Pentium be any better than the 4100? I'm pretty sure the latter would perform better or at least on par with the Pentium.

@OP - The FX-4100 is a bad gaming CPU, and it's a generation behind. The Piledriver line was released a week ago and it's a big improvement - it's actually an i3 contender. I'm assuming you have a $500 budget, so here.
