Hey guys.

I'm "semi"-building a new computer.

I'm gonna replace some of my old parts with some new.

I'm gonna end up with:

ASRock Z77 EXTREME4 (New)

Cooler Master HAF 912 (New)

Samsung 830 Series MZ-7PC256B - Solid state drive (New)

Intel Xeon E3-1270V2 - 3.5 GHz (New)

Kingston HyperX Predator 4x4 GB (KHX24C11T2K2/8X) (New)

Nvidia GTX 580

Corsair TX850W

As this is my 2nd time putting a computer together, I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on if I should go for something else?

I'm looking to get the best chassis, mobo, ram, ssd and cpu, I can get for around 1000 euro combined.

I appreciate any suggestions.

I just looked around and figured out it would be a pretty decent upgrade compared to my OC'ed i7 920 (OC to 3.25Ghz).

Do you know if there's something better in the same price range as the Intel Xeon E3-1270v2?

Thanks a lot for the advicing.

Btw, the computer will mainly be used for gaming.

I took a look at another thread in these forums, where the Intel Core i7 3770K is recommended over the Xeon for gaming. Should I go for the i7 3770K instead of the Xeon?

yeh as excella says, xeons arent really designed for gaming, you should go with an i5 or i7 depending on how much you have to spend :)
