Has anybody done this $200 rebate from Nikon ( D70 + 17-70 mm DX lens) ?
Do you need separate serial number for camera and lens as stated on
rebate form ?
I am confused here since I've only got everything in ONE outfit box ;
wonder if the
serial number/product code on this box will qualify for the rebate ,
they didn't send
me individual product box for lens and camera . Any insight info's are
greatly appreciated.

The kit comes in one box. I had to download a rebate form from the place I
got the kit from (Circuit City), and send that in to Nikon with a copy of
the receipt and the bar codes from the box. I have not received my rebate
yet ($100), but when the rebates gets that high I always send it returned
receipt usps.

In the box you will find an extended warranty card just for the lens and two
registration cards, one for the camera and one for the lens. Each has a
different number, and you can also register your product on the Web. You
also get a warranty card that you must send to Nikon if you send the product
in for warranty, so don't lose that.

Look on the bottom of the box. Mive has a sticker which has the body and
lens serial #'s listed separately. Also, they re on the camera body and
lens themselves.

There is a sticker on the bottom of the box that the kit came in, giving
separate serial numbers for the camera and the lens. The numbers are also
on the equipment, but a bit hard to find.

Yes, right at 2 months for D-70 kit and SB800. The check for the stobe came a
day later, just as I was about to call and inquire. Nice work Nikon.

Even with a 6x loupe, I still got 2 digits wrong. Had I NOT found the sticker,
I would have registered a bogus #.
