Will this build work?

Hello, I am new around here and i really love computers. I am actually taking PC Repair and Maintenance at my high school. :)

Anyway, I was looking to build my own gaming computer that i could play games such as Skyrim, BF3, Minecraft, Counter Strike etc. and i wanted to know if this all fits together and would work together.

Thanks in advance,

Kroinz

More about will build work
  1. Actually, that build seems pretty fine.

The only thing I would change is that a 650W is too much if you plan on only using 1 GPU. 500 will do you fine

And, EVGA coolers aren't the best. Get Gigabyte, Asus, MSI and other brands for slightly lower temps. Won't really affect performance though.
  2. Thank you so much do you think this is the best bang for the buck as well?
  3. Well , if you plan on overclocking, you will need an aftermarket CPU cooler. I'd recommend the CM Hyper 212 EVO for a moderate overclock. If not, save a bit of money and get the i5 3470. I wouldn't advise that if you get the 3570k then try to put the CPU cooler on later. You will have to take everything apart and take off the motherboard from the case, which makes installing the cooler even more of a pain.
  4. I would change the GPU to a 7870. It outperforms the 660 in every way, and it's at about the same price point.

Will the 7870 fit on this motherboard? Will it work?
  6. Also if anyone knows a good gaming mouse keyboard around 100$ and a monitor for around 150$ it would be great
  7. ^ All GPU's fit in the PCI-E lanes on your motherboard :P

    I I would recommend is:

Mouse: Tt eSPORTS BLACK This mouse has all your goodies like adjustable DPI up to 4000, LED Eye candy, a rubber coating, and a weighting system.

Keyboard: Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Comes with all red LED backlit lights. Also comes with 6 macro keys & a wrist rest.

Monitor: Anything 1080p, and 24" is fine. I would recommend ASUS as a brand.
