Hello, my girlfriend and I share a router. she's using an old Netbook (5years+) and im on a Dell PC sharing a Netgear Router. recently we had some intense lag spikes and thought we had a leecher. so we secured the network with no change in performance.
the lag comes in spikes, resting Ping being near 100ms or less, spiking past 999ms every 10-30seconds. she is unable to disable the WZC as she is running Windows 7 and it shuts down her NIC.
the annoying part is she is sapping the PC's connection through her connection. all she is doing is browsing the web while im gaming (World of Tanks, Eve Online, Xbox 360).
if someone could point me in the right direction i'd appreciate it. if further information is needed i can provide but i wished to keep the initial post simple.
