Which Graphics Card to complete my new system?

Hey guys,

I'm finally on the verge of completing my new system.
The only thing that's missing is the proper GPU.
I always wanted to buy a GTX 670, but since AMD dropped their prices, I'm contemplating about buying a Radeon 7970.

My budget is about 450-500$.
I'll be using the PC to play games and to do video editing/encoding/After Effects.
The monitor resolution will be 1080p for starters. (Dell UltraSharp U2412M)
I have the AsRock Z77 Extreme6 mainboard , the i7 3770k processor and a 750W power supply.

So far I've narrowed it down to:
Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition

I'm very open to other suggestions.

More about which graphics card complete system
  1. The Radeons are going to be highly superior for video editing and encoding purposes as well as GPU-accelerated stuff. The GTX cards are more gaming oriented.
