Would this DVI adapter work for my setup ?

i built a new computer and my GPU uses only DVI. it's a XFX 6950 2GB and the problem is i have a very old moniter. an old ACER moniter from the windows Vista age, and it's only VGA. would i be able to use a DVI adapter ? this is what i'm getting.

yes i know i can just hook it up to my tv using the HDMI chord but the TV is to far away.

Yes, that should be fine.

You might want to check the bottom of the gpu box, maybe under a flap of cardboard. Easy to miss and the usually include the VGA adapter on DVI only card
