Need help with my pc to maximize the display

I wanted to play dragonage and masseffect II with full settings, but my current hardware is restricting me to do so because of the lag, im on windows 7 64bit ultimate.

What would be the best solution for my query, PCI-e x16.

Your system is a little outdated. Might want to upgrade or build a whole new rig.
