I would probably just go amd for now to save space and not need a GPU. Also, do you plan to get a PSU and then wire that to an inverter and then wire that to a switched 12v in the car?

But for $400 you might as well get a laptop/ tablet and save time and effort installing a desktop into your car.

That's pretty cool. Never seen that before. Just to be clear, a laptop is not an option? It seems like the obvious choice. I would still go for the AMD build. This is making we want to stick a computer in my VW but I'm sure I would need a second battery.

I have a laptop so I don't need one and Tiny I don't know your electrical system but this build is under 300 watts total, unless you have a over about a 1 kw rms amp for you speakers and subs most vehicles can handle it with a good starting battery. That said, I have a second battery, but I'm also running almost 3kw rms.

I run 2 air compressors for my airbag suspension setup and my car struggles to turn over if you run the compressors for any time at all with the car off. lol

That would certainly strain the electrical system lol. That's one of the reasons why I went with a static drop on my truck. The VW doesn't look bad for a new VW.
