Monitor choice

i dont know if the subject belongs here but im getting a new monitor for christmas this year and im looking for a 2ms monitor but what is the difference between a non backlit and a backlit this monitor is the one im planning to get so far. let me know if there is any other good ones that has a 2ms response and the monitor size i want is no bigger than 25inch. but my highest would be 23. link is here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236059

A backlit monitor is an LED monitor while the non backlit one is LCD. LED is generally preferred over LCD as it consumes less power and has better colors. The monitor you linked there will be perfectly fine. I would however recommend getting either headphones or external speakers as the speakers that come with ASUS monitors don't produce the highest quality audio.
