Hey folks, So i'm almost done with my build, I have everything up and running so far but i'm basically doing tweaks and modifications as I go, so I was wanting to see what you guys think of it so I can do returns/exchanges as needed while im still inside the 14/30 day window to do so. I'll use Newegg to link all of the parts... I bought everything at Fry's but willing to order online or head over to MC as well- anyway
Case- HAF 912 $54.99

Storage- Western Digital 500GB HD $69.99 (maybe could do better?)

PSU- Antec 650 watt PSU $49 (picked it up on sale tonight)

GPU- Reused out of my old computer, 560TI

...
So thats what I have so far, soon enough I will be getting a SSD (probably samsung) and a new video card (no idea on that yet). I'm pretty satisfied with the build so far, I'm a little iffy on the case bc I think I might want something with more airflow on the side panel bc the one I have only has a spot for one 120/140MM for the video card.
Any input from you guys would be great though!
Cheers

Hello fellow patron of Toms Hardware!
My prices are not "way off" as I'm sitting here looking at my receipt for my items- The mobo comes out to $125 after my MIR and the CPU I picked up on sale.
Thank you for your reply and advice about the video card!

Did you check if the processor is a returned or refurbished unit? Fry's has a habit of reselling them, but apparently they are labeled but one can still miss it.

Also, if you bought it from Microcenter, they have a walk-in deal for a CPU+motherboard combo that gives you a $50 discount on the motherboard.(Usually ASRock z77 Extreme4).

While I don't usually recommend Seagate, this particular 1TB one is hard to pass out on since the discounted price is basically a steal.

Hey! I saw the link to the seagate earlier through an email newegg sent me and I might actually grab it and the processor was brand new, I know the guy that was working in the cage at Fry's and he made sure to give me a new one. :)

He already has the 560ti and is going to get a new one at some point. But I agree, my 560ti is starting to have problems at 1080p

Excella's right. I am trying to sell mine currently. In a few months there will be almost no demand for it, as it will be a 2 year old card, or Dinosaur in computer terms.
