Help im looking for an upgrade!?!

Hi. I am currently in the market for a new video card for my tower. As far as info on my rig, im useing : Biostar tp45 hp, 4gb ram, win 7 64bit, intel pentium dual-core e6500 @ 2.93, and current video card is nvidia geforce gt 240 ddr5 1gb. I dont have any major frame rate issues ( more wouldn't be a bad thing), but i have recently had issues playing movies/shows that are 1080p. I get normally very laggy or constant freezing of the video, most of the people i have talked to have said its the video card??? Some friends have suggested that i step up to a card with 192/256bit, ddr3/5 and atleast 1gb. I really dont know anything about computers just looking for a card so i can watch my shows, lol. Any help would be greatful thanks.

Forgot to mention this, I only have about $100-150 to spend, and other than watching videos i play WoW and D3 at the moment. I also forgot to mention that the power supply was upgraded to 500watt.

If that's what you have to spend, I suggest the radeon 7770.

You will have a cpu bottleneck, your better off getting a new system.

If you want a card then get the radeon 7750 or radeon 7770.
