I currently have 1 HD4850 in my rig which was just updated to a I5 3570K and a ASRock Z77 Extreme4 mobo with 8gb of ram.
My question is, would it be worth it to get a second 4850 for cheep (they run less than $50 on ebay) or just keep the one i have and wait to upgrade.
Also, would it be worth it to get the 512MB version as a have the 1GB version currently.

Thanks

Splendid

technically you could, but that wouldnt be smart either. Just like with different ram sizes the smaller/slower one determines the setup, so you would still end up with 4850 crossfire setup. And 512MB is really low vram amount for crossfire setups in these days, so I think it would be better to wait till you can get a new card...

There have been rumours allready about the HD8000 series launching at the end of the year. Should be interesting even if you dont plan to get one because the new series should drive the prices down on the current gen cards as well.

The setup in total only cost ~$400... I cant really justify spending more than $100 on just a GFX card

I'm running a single 4890(1gb) right now. I get around 30fps in Planetside 2 on high. BF3 I get around 30fps on ultra. I just bought a second 4890(1gb) for crossfire so when I get that up and running, my frames should be even higher. With two 4850s I would imagine them to outperform a single 4890(1gb) slightly.
