Hello I have been reading discussions and had originally built a computer on newegg.com with a

AMD FX-4170 Zambezi 4.2GHz (4.3GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

But after reading many forums and review I have learned that the Intel i5 processors are much better. Even though running at lower GHz. My question is, is this true and does it matter if I am strictly playing RTS games like Total War, Starcraft II, Company of Heros, etc....

My current build is:

Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

Couple things to note if you are going to play games like shogun 2 you may need a better gpu but on that note you can flash the 6970 BIOS to the 6950 making it run like its a 6970 meaning you will get a performance boost. (There are tutorials online on how to do that).

The stock fan that comes with the i5 isn't that great i would recommend getting something other than the stock fan.

Otherwise this build should be fine if you do decide you need a better gpu and you are playing above 1920x1080 get an amd gpu like the 7950 and if you are below that get something like a 670.

Everything else on this build is perfectly fine.
