More about budget gaming
  1. Either one to be honest at that resolution you should be fine. Personally I like the ivy 3570k so I would go with that build. My current res is 1600x900 And with the specs in my sig I max everything out.
  2. You will see MUCH better gamine performance from the first build.
  3. At your resolution, the second build would be pretty solid. Specially since you have the i5 3570K. However in terms of gaming, you'd want a better GPU and if you ever upgrade resolution, you'd want the 1st build.

You can check out my $650 build. Not quite quid prices but... it'll be somewhat reflected after a conversion.

In your case, a better GPU would be more important. And the AMD FX-6300 is an amazing budget chip that performs better than the i3 3220 and can still overclock. Plus you'll still get that 7870 goodness but save money.
