My brother wants to upgrade his HP desktop to get better performance at games. He was thinking about getting a 6670 and a decent PSU. So I thought I could sell him my Sapphire HD 6850 around the price of a 6670 and then I could get the XFX HD 7870.

His HP desktop:
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q8200
GPU: GTX 210
RAM: 8gb
PSU: 350w crappy HP

The games I play are Battlefield 3 and sometimes DayZ. The only game I want to play in the future is the new Metro: Last Night. do you guys think it is a smart idea to upgrade now, or should I wait until my 6850 can't handle anything? 'Cause right now I feel ok with my performance although playing BF3 with ultra settings would be wonderful.

Edit: just so you know, I don't OC

It's worth upgrading:

You would get close to twice the FPS you normally would get with the HD 6850. Or at least in most cases.

And what do you guys have to say about my brother's computer? He plays games like Borderlands, Blacklight Retribution and Batman Arkham Assylum and wants to buy Arkham City. I've seen him playing other games on the lowest settings and it doesn't look smooth at all.

His CPU isn't that bad right? I think he will be happy with the 6850 and maybe a ~500w PSU.

Btw... how much money can we save approx. on the XFX HD 7870 and an 80plus
PSU if we wait until cybermonday?

His CPU is fine. Going from a GT 210 to an HD 6850 is a huge jump in performance. He'll have no problem playing at medium-high settings with relatively smooth frames.
