Hello, i've had a ati radeon 5850 for nearly 2 years and it has been been working fine ever since (60 fps on most games). However these past few days i've had low fps on everything (even flash games).

I've installed the latest drivers, checked fans, did a virus scan, but everything still has bad framerate. What do?

More about : low fps

did you pull the cover off the card to clean the dust out ? Or at least blow through the exhaust ports ( with your mouth ) to blow debris out the fan hole ?

has anything happened to the computer recently ?

I've cleaned dust from the cpu long before problems started to occur. Didn't do anything to the computer recently either. Framerate just started being low 3 days ago for no reason, i thought it would be fine the next day but nope.

This happened to my 4890 a while back. I ran 3d mark 06 just to make sure. I scored like 10,000 points below what I normally would. I just sent it in for an RMA under warranty. They gave me a brand new one that worked fine.

He said blow the dust out of the video card, NOT the cpu.

Check to see if the core clocks are running full speed while your gaming.
