VGA/DVI to component

Hi, I have the acer aspire M5100 Desktop and Its either VGA or DVI. Not sure which one is it. I was wondering if I can buy a cable that one side is DVI/VGA and the other side is 5 component cable. Will that work or I need some converter box. My tv only supports Component cable.

  1. You'd need a converter box. For identification:

VGA is on the left; DVI on the right
  2. My computer needs a VGA. I cant buy a cable that is vga on one end and component on the other end?
  3. You can get a DVI to Component adapter but it would be just RGB no audio. I have not seen any that support DVI to Component plus audio. Here is one from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-DVI-I-Component-Cable-Black/dp/B0018COZDC/ref=pd_cp_pc_1

Just noticed your last post I have not seen any VGA to Component adapters just VGA to Composite which is not near as good.
