hi i want to build a new gaming rig for 600 bucks and i am down to two options i iether buy an intel i3 3220 with a rageon hd 7770 gpu or buy an amd a10 with a 6670 i have everything else like a 500 watt psu ssd hard drive case and what not. i wanna use it mainly for playing games like league of legends or diablo 3 or need for speed most wanted. i also want it to be power efficient thanks for readying and hopefully replying

The A10 is as fast as the i3, and even faster in heavily multithreaded apps. The only reason to pick the i3 in this case is that it was the option that included the VASTLY superior 7770.

What I don't get is why the combos are so different. If you can afford to include a 7770 with the i3, then you can use a 7770 on the A10, too. Honestly I'd probably say at this point, spend $10 more and go fx-6300+7770. You won't be using the APU graphics anyway.

You buy a A10 for the superior integrated graphics.
You buy the i3-3220 for the superior cpu speed.

Since you will be using a dedicated graphics card, I think the i3-3220 would be better.
For $600, I think you should be able to do reasonably well.
The graphics card is very important for gaming, and I suspect your budget will allow you to go even stronger.
What parts have you already bought?

What happened to your:
cpu: intel core 2 quad Q8200@3.2 ghz
gpu:saphire radeon hd 7850 2 gig manualy overclocked to 1 ghz

Anyways, as suggested above i3 3220 + HD 7770 is the way to go.

Coz you won't be able to squeeze out enough performance to beat HD 7770, after Crossfiring HD 6670 with the integrated graphics of A10. Plus, the Power Consumption & Heat may arise new problems.

i3 3220 + HD 7770 FTW.

That is the best of the 2 option's. Even it offer's upgr path. U can upgr to a better CPU on the future .But i dont think u will be able to upgr that AMD cpu . Cuz like the last upgr they went from FM1 to FM2.

So I3 its better than A10 and 7770 is good too
