Here's what they say

Taipei, Taiwan - According to our Taiwanese correspondent, those who have bought the new Athlon XP are in luck as the Taiwanese distributor are asking retailers to return their unsold Athlon XP to the distributor and new stocks are not available to replenish the hot market. The distributor told the retailers that AMD is recalling the CPUs. Why is AMD stopping the distributor to distribute to the retailers remains a mystrey..

Maybe AMD can't meet the demand for the processors so they are recalling the unsold retail processors to sell to OEM's. I *think* that is what is going on. AMD doesn't want to lose any corporate business so they are supplying them with what they can and will fill the retail at a later date. *<b>NOTE</b>* This is only my opinion, it's not based on any fact.

It's only natural....companies are in the market of making money, not being nice. I mean look at NVidia, they sell Quadro DCC for 1 grand, vs. Gf3 which ncan be found for $250. There are exactly 2 resitors in different places on that card.
