Is this alright?

Hi guys. This might sound like an extremely stupid question but it has been worrying me a little bit. I finished building my pc 2 days ago. I have 2 monitors but the cables are extremely short. The monitor that is further away from the pc barely connects to the dvi port of the computer. The cable is so short that it is tugging a little bit on the dvi port of the pc. I was wondering if its safe for the cable to be so short or if my pc is at risk of having the port damaged.

To make it sound a little more clear, the port on the pc itself is not whats getting tugged, the cable is.

the port wont be damaged so easy but the pins on the dvi-d ( or dvi-i whichever ) can be bent which sucks. 6ft dvi-i and dvi-d cables are little more than $10 so there is a solution.
