Upgrading my current system, may encounter problems without advice.

Hello, I have literally just signed up to this forum page because of the amount of help I've seen people get and thought what the heck.

So, my question is: is my current system in need of upgrade for further next-gen games and if it is whats the bottleneck or system part in need of upgrade. Thanks!

My specs:

Motherboard - Asus M4a78LT-M http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A78LTM/#specifications

CPU - A sempron 140 @2.7ghz, unlocked to Athlon II x2 4400e @2.7ghz.
(i believe a phenom II x4 965 BE will be a nice upgrade personally)

Graphic card - Sapphire radeon HD 7750 low profile 1gb gddr5.

4gb of ram samsung, not sure on exact name.

450watt powersupply, not sure on name, just a stock.

320gb harddrive, seagate.

Thats all i can think would affect performance for games.

Thanks and my quick question is what needs upgradeing the most to be future ready for games like BattleField 3, Arma 3, Dayz Standalone and the current mod. etc. Thanks! :D

I'm only looking to upgrade 1 component for this year so budget at £100, so any advice you give me will be taken in to consideration and will be dealt with when i have disposable income :D

  1. A phenom would be a good upgrade, but that PSU could be a little bit suspect. I'd suggest you replace that as soon afterwards as you can.
  2. Thanks, I wasn't 100%, but now i got an pro I know :D
Yes i'll get £80 psu from xfx i think.

    Again thanks!
  3. One of these would be fine, and leave you room for a much better GPU sometime later:
