Hello,
My hardware expertise ends with upgrading ram and hard drives. I am trying to figutre out if putting In a new graphics card will fix my grandparents computer. The video feed stopped working after a power went out and was restored. I have connected it to known working monitor and cable still with no picture. All the fans spin, and hard drive appears to be good. It is a hp a6000n with integrated graphics but there are extra slots. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Adding a stand alone video card may help, but with an integrated video adapter failure, it could be indicative of a defective motherboard.

If you have access to a video card (GPU), you can install it to see what happens.

Good luck!
