hey guys!
i own the Gig gtx560ti Windforce and it's a great piece, it works at 980/1255MHz. just recently i've seen the MSI 7850 1GB at a very affordable price. the best thing is that i can sell my gtx560ti for the same price so i can basically get a new card without any investment. but is it worthy? i know that 7850 2GB outperform not only 560ti but also gtx570 most of the time.

can i expect a measurable-reasonable improvement if i get the 1GB model?

The 1GB model performs the same as the 2GB model. Problem with the 1GB model is that there are a number of games that can use more than 1GB of RAM on the video card at 1080p resolution. This is especially true if the game in question has a high res texture pack. Skyrim with Bethesda's high res textures causes VRAM usage to go up to 1.5+ GB. As such, I would recommend the 2GB version if you don't want to be stuck short of VRAM.

With the OC you have on your 560Ti, a 7850 at stock is probably closer to a sidegrade than a real upgrade. OCing the 7850 would help, but you may want to aim higher if you want a really worthwhile performance bump.

yeah i see what u mean. in the test here at Tom's they said the Max Pain didn't even start on the cards with less than 2GB of VRAM when hi-res textures were used.
okay, i'm gonna try and save some cash and go for the 7870.

+1 i say a worthy upgrade from a 560 ti would be a gtx 670 or R7950 i wouldn't even bother upgraded to anything less

i'll definitely skip R7850 but r u sure that R7870 isn't a true upgrade? i soundly beats gtx560ti. yeah i wish i can get gtx670 now but such an upgrade would have to wait.
