Hey, I know there has been other threads about this same question but they are all closed and I had a question I haven't seen other people raise yet.
So starting off here is my build so far, (I haven't bought anything yet so its open to change.) Its no linked with PC part picker ect but in Australia it doesn't have many sites linked to buy from so I just typed up my own list.

I've picked2x GTX 670's 4gb because they are good value for money but I realized that some games don't have multi GPU support, So I could only use one card :/ So I was kinda leaning towards a GTX 690 because of that reason, also they apparently consume less power and have a better performance sooo, I can get them about the same price here. But then I thought, What about 680s?!?!? hm. BUT seeing they are 800$ here for a 4GB version I was like that but 2gbs are only 500 so heres the final question.

2x GTX 670 SLI Or 2x GTX 680 2gb Or 1x GTX 690.

How does the 690 make a monster system over the other 2? Because you can only go 2-way Quad SLI wouldn't 4-way 670 or 680 be just as good?

But wouldn't that make the GTX 680's more monster system because 2x GTX 690 is pretty much 4x GTX 680 just not as good?

Yeah x4 680's is a bit better then two 690's With 4x680s, you get issues with temps because the cards will be all squished up on one another. So if you were going to go quad-SLI, 2x690 is the way to go.

+1

Yeah, I know, both are pretty wasteful though but upon saying that do you think I should change the 2x GTX 670's to a GTX 690 for that sole purpose because when the 690s start getting outdated I wanna be able to get another one and they'll be cheaper by then but I'm assuming if I go with 2x 670 now and want to get 2 more down the track I'm gonna have those space and heats issues you guys just mentioned.

Yeah you could look at it that way

Done! Yay. (Only suggest changing pre-existing part list if absolutely vital)

Nothing wrong with the case, im just not a fan of full towers or the grill across the whole front :p As for the PSU i would have thought someone going with such a high end rig would be going for at least a 850. I know most people say to get at least 20% more power than needed as stuff degrades over time and you dont want to be hititng the max draw under load. Im not sure how much that setup needs but I imagine SLI 680s need a bit. As does your cooling solution.

Wtf? Everyone is saying that 4gb Asus GTX 670s dont excist but I've got one linked right there..? There are no videos on them and when I asked a guy why there aren't he said that they don't exist. Do they, Are they really new maybe? Because I've got that one listed there but I dunno.
