Hello, I just want to ask a few questions here about my upgrade. I'm looking at the Radeon 6670 and the Antec EA-380GREEN 380W EarthWatts.

My specs: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c03311504&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=101&contentType=SupportFAQ&prodSeriesId=5187028&prodTypeId=12454

i3 2120
8GB RAM
1TB HDD
Integrated Graphics
Windows 7 Home Premium
Willing to give out more specs if you need.

Radeon 6670:

Antec EarthWatts 380w Green:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002UOR17Y/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i5?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0E88GFAQQG45Q01TRMWG&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=317828027&pf_rd_i=468294

My questions:

Are they both compatible with my computer?

Will the 380w handle that Asus Radeon 6670?

Is that power supply reliable?

Thats not a bad PSU, and it should cut it, however, a higher powered psu wouldnt be as stressed as that one and reduce the chances of it blowing up later on. The XFX 450w Core edition, would be able to deliver more power and I think would be worth the extra money. But maybe it's more in the UK, I wouldn't know.

Yes, they are compatible. A 380W Earthwatts will have no trouble at all. If you intend to play games, I would highly recommend finding a version of the HD6670 that has GDDR5 memory on it instead of DDR3; it will be much faster. If your budget can make the stretch, a HD7750 would be even stronger, and will also run on the 380W Earthwatts.

The HD6670 offers amazing bang for the buck, it's just that a lot of people don't think it has enough bang. At 1920x1080, I'd be inclined to agree, although it will play older games quite nicely at even that resolution (possibly with no AA). For modern titles, you'd be fortunate to reach "medium" settings.

I want to balance his rig with a nicer card =) It's an OCT (obsessive compulsive tendencies) thing.

I held my tongue when i saw a guy had a 9500gt and 2g of ram. But I know sometimes you have to make due with what you got. I ran intel HD 2000 for the longest time! like 4 months =)

^second, I ran a gt220 when I first was putting this rig together (the one in my signature), it wasn't great and I could barely play skyrim on all low, but dam did I have so much fun playing games with that thing. :D

I upgraded piece by piece as i got my financial aid monies. Just recently got a 7850 and now my system feels right.

Side note. 78xx card prices have fallen, just saw a 7870 for almost $200...that's what i paid for the 7850 =(

hey is there a program or something to have your specs in the sig?
