Best resolution for my monitor ?

How to find out what is the best resoultion for my monitor ?

I have an Acer 18 inch LCD monitor. I am using Intel HD graphics.

Is it like ' the more the better ( the one which is given lowest in the list of screen resolutions in settings )' or is it like screen size specific ?

Your setting should match the physical resolution of the screen ans that's typical the highest offered by windows.

Your monitor has a native resolution, and this is the resolution you should use(check your manual). You may be able to go above or below this, but the screen will be fuzzy because it wasn't designed for other resolutions and will scale the picture to fit.
