Hello; my buddy lives in a condo complex that provides a free WiFi ..its basically an unsecured wireless G connection ..the Probelm is that he lives on the very corner edge of the complex , and thus at like the farthest point from the signal..
he can barely get 2 bars on a good day and from the corner of the laundry closet (closest thing part of place to where signal coming from) and it drops signal ALL the time..he might connect for about 5 mins before it drops ..what can he do IF anything , to increase or boost the signal ? he has tried to talk the mangaer but of course the 'internet guy' is never around .. should he look a repeater ? signal booster or what ? any and all help would be greatly apriciated ..Thanks again in advance

If the computer has a wifi card with an antenna connection, there are lots of high-gain antennas out there to get. But the issue is that what you really want to do is to also boost the signal on the wifi access point side also. Something like http://www.amazon.com/Hawking-HSB2-HiGain-Signal-Booster/dp/B0009MYSHU. For that you'd need to work with whoever is the person handling support for this thing.
