My friend is looking to buy a new laptop from newegg. I have already tried to convince him to build a desktop but he wants it to be portable. He wants to play wow on ultra settings and have the possibility for other games (at least good setting). His budget is max of $1400 but whatever is the most practical.

These are the two laptop he is currently look at:
ASUS G75VW-NH71 Notebook - $1329
Intel Core i7 3630QM(2.40GHz)
17.3"
12GB Memory
500GB HDD 7200rpm
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M (3Gb)
DVD±R/RW

lenovo IdeaPad Y580 (59345717) Notebook - $1099
Intel Core i7 3630QM(2.40GHz)
15.6"
8GB Memory
1TB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M (2Gb)
Blu-ray Rambo

My recommendation
ASUS A55 Series A55VD-NB71 Notebook - $750
Intel Core i7 3610QM(2.30GHz)
15.6"
6GB Memory
750GB HDD 7200rpm
NVIDIA GeForce GT 610M (2Gb)
DL DVD+/-RW / CD-RW

Which would you recommend to be the best option (cost, performance, quality) or is there a better one for the price range.

The first laptop on this list is the best but he might run out of space quite fast if he is planning on having loads of games on it :p may i ask where about he lives so i can find a good website? also i would recommend not going below 10gb ram as it will help the laptop because of the fact that the gpu's and cpu's on laptops are not as good as they are on desktops :p

This laptop has a bigger hard drive and some other better features like more ports and a better wireless card :p it does have a little bit worse proccesor than the first one but not to much of a difference :) also i would not recommend getting windows 8 as it has problems with some games and windows 7 is better made for gaming and is more simple :)
