Im running 2 x HD 7970. So all the PCIe x16 slots are filled up on my mobo. I have only PCIe x1 slots left. So I was wondering if I should buy a Nvidia geforce x1 card to run physX on through hybrid physx. Would this work? Recommend a good x1 slot Nvdia gpu.

You'd have to get modded drivers, and it won't work for all games.

Don't mind modding. I was looking at the zotac gt 610 x1. My cpu is i7 2700k @ 4.5ghz. If I instal this graphic card would I get a improvement in fps while running physx or would I be better of with the cpu itself?

Well, try CPU PhysX and see what your FPS drop is like. PhysX won't improve FPS. It just improves the particle physics.
