Audio problems

You are having problems with audio, WHAT problem?

When I view a vedio in say Picasa but in movie maker or Pinnacle there is no sound. How do I fix this problem. But found out resonantly that it did work with a new vedio that I installed. But after reinstalling the old vedio (like a week old) they didn't work again. Please help
