Hi wondering if anyone can help. At the moment i have a plextor 12/10/32 cdrw as master and a LG 8160 dvd 16x as slave on the secondary ide channel.. At the moment i can only burn on the fly at 8 speed as the transfer rate of the DVD drive is not fast enough. Now this DVD is a new drive so i dont know understand how it can be too slow. . Is there something i can do about it. I am using cdrwin and these drives are eide.

Since they're on the same IDE channel, that limits them too.
If you burn from CD to CD on the fly a lot, try putting one of them as primary slave and the other as secondary master - see how that works out.

tried doing that, but one time i put the DVD as a slave on the primary channel with the hard drive and then the bios failed to even see the HD. I am fairly sure i have the jumpers set up right. So any more ideas.
