So i decided to build a new pc, this one is realy old and cant run much games how i want to.
I selected some components i want to buy.
But i dotn know if theyr compatible one with other.
So there are the components.
Mother board: Asus Sabertooth X79
GPU: GeForce GTX 690
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K
Power Suply: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W
Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Hard Drive: Western Digital WD VelociRaptor 600GB 3.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s
Optical Drive: LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer Black SATA Model iHAS424-98
Are you running 1920x1200 or 2560x1400? If its 1200, get the 680, if its 1400, get the 690 if you want to max out 98% of games. You also need a Z77 board and I'd get an 850w PSU for a 690 minimum.
More imporantly, get a decent monitor such as Dell's U2412M for 1200 or a U27 IPS model for 1400. Bottom line, what resolution and what games?
But GTX 690 isnt beter even on 1920x1200?
680 is weaker on 1200 than the 690?
black ops 2 ,ac3,nfs mw,far cry3,borderlands2,arkham city,
prototype2,bf3,warfighter,max payne 3.....
The 690 is built for 2560 x 1400, you'd get an easy 60FPS at that resolution. To get 60FPS+ at 1920x1200 you'd get a 680. The choice is yours. You really don't need anything above 60FPS, I'd take a quality IPS Ultrasharp over 120Hz TN panel anyday.
