I just built a computer and everything works fine except for my video card.
When I boot the system the video card is working not correctly. Monitor is all crappy. It goes with dashes, dots, squares etc.
Sometimes it's even hard to read the text.
I don't think it has something to do with OS or drivers, because the problem starts right from the bios screen.
I loaded windows and installed latest video driver.
Updated bios and installed latest drivers to all hardware.
All hardware is new.
Is there anything I should change in the BIOS to make it work?
I found in the motherboard manual the following:
Configuring an expansion card:
1. Turn on the system and change the necessary BIOS settings if any.
2. Assign an IRQ to the card.
3 Install drivers.
How do I assign IRQ to the card?
Sometimes when I load windows it gives me blue screen with the text:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage. The problem seems to be caused by the file nv4_disp.
The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicats problem with the device itself or with the device driver
programming the hardware incorrectly."
In the Windows Device manager it shows:"device cannot start [code 10]"
I have an internal video card. Can it cause conflicts?
Everything seems connected correctly. Additional power cable to the video card is connected.
System works stable without the video card installed.
Display connected through DVI-D. Cable is Ok. I tested it.
I also found out that sometimes when the computer is off for some period of time the display is showing everything correctly for
approximately 20-30 sec and then it goes bad again.
