I have read through previous threads regarding troubleshooting of my new system.
I am breadboarding the follwing:
Motherbord: Gigabyte 970A-D3 with AM3+ slot
CPU: AMD Phanom II with AM3 slot
PSU: 630W RX-630SS
Ram: DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 4gb (x1) (with or without)
...and getting no sound on the case speaker.
Fans are running and PSU turns on.
The power button of case will not turn off the power, thus I have to use the switch at the back of the PSU.
I have measured voltages across PSU and all seem to match except for the GREEN. I am getting no voltage with or without the power switch (on/off). Is this the issue, or could it still be CPU or MoBo?
Any way I can troubleshoot CPU, MoBo?
Is it safe to remove CPU fan to see if CPU warms up at all?
Initially when I had all the components plugged in, the system was bootin for a milisecond and then shutting off. That was the reason I pulled everything out.
Any help is appreciated, since I am not able to test against another working component.
Everything is on a cardboard box, I am grounded with a bracelet, cats are locked up.
