Okay... just got my new system up & running... only one problem(?) so far... on shutdown it all powers down except for the numlock light on the keyboard. If I unplug the keyboard & the replug, it the light stays off... if I press the power button it boots up as normal

I don't use any powersaving features, it is all disabled... could there B an option in the BIOS that I have missed ??? I dont know

System is;
Athlon 1.2Ghz, Epox 8KHA+, W98SE, PS/2 keyboard & USB mouse
(this problem never happened when the keyboard was plugged into my old system) the keyboard works fine though... I just wanna know whats going on, never have I come across this happening & I have worked on quite a few systems

It's normal.
Might be you've enabled keyboard wake-up?

Some motherboards have a jumper usually labeled "kbpwr" which enables keyboard wakeup as mentioned above. This provides power to the keyboard at all times. Check your manual for the right jumper location and you can turn it off if you like.

Something to the extent of "wake by PS2 keyboard."
