Hello!

Looking for a "mid range" video card that works well under Linux. Please note that I mostly use Ubuntu and Linux Mint.

I guess by "mid range" I'm talking about a $150 USD price point. At least that is roughly where I'd like to keep it.

Main use will NOT be games but I do plan on running Windows 7 in Virtual Box so I need a decent card that can handle that well because right now my Windows 7 in Virtual Box runs a bit slow and I suspect it is my crappy video card chipset (which is a built-in Intel chipset).

you can get the gtx 550 ti 2gb for 149 99 and that will suit your needs perfectly. Just to let you know windows 8 is coming out and will only be 40 bucks and will have a desktop mode which is like windows 7. Hey but if you prefer linux than you can stay with that.
