Core voltage

I've got an Athlon 800MHz on an A7V. I have the core voltage set to default and on the Asus utility I can see that the voltage is 1.82. Does it need to be this high or can I bring it down without losing stability (I'm not OCing; obviously I'm a noobie). Would bringing the voltage down significantly bring my CPU temp down (like 3 or 4 C) or lenthen the life of my processor. Thanks for answering my dumb questions.

The Asus utility Lies if you want an even near factual setting look at the bios. It will give you a more accurate number

If this voltage is right you can bring it down to 1.75V without any problems.
