Would a single 1GB card give me the same results as two 512MB cards?

Just thinking that two cards mean more cores and more processing power?

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

vram is largely irrelevant to performance.
Here is one example study of 2gb vs. 4gb : http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Video-Card-Performance-2GB-vs-4GB-Memory-154

Also, when you use two cards the vram is not additive.
Lastly, two cards, particularly lower powered cards may exhibit microstuttering.

Bottom line-----------------------------------------
Buy the best single card so long as it will do the job.
