i have a 60gb drive i want to install on a asus p5a board but it only detects it as 30gb. i went on their web site to get the bios update but it didn't work. the p5ab however has a bios update file that says it allows for drives over 30gb. if i use this bios will it screw up my mobo?

Just go to the manufacturer of your HD and download Diskgo its a dynamic drive overlay. It bypasses the limitations of your bios and allows you to use the full 60gb. Most overlays are seamless now anyways and donot show reports on the secondary bios report screen

Blame the newbies not the technology
