Hello All,

Just wanted to post my ideas for my gaming pc build. Probably won't happen until later this year or early next year, but I am getting ideas right now. My knowledge is limited. My friend just built a bomb ass one for around $1100 and my budget is the same. He went with Intel so naturally, even though I realize Intel is the top of the line, Im gonna try an AMD build. That includes a monitor and so will mine. I am using Newegg and right now my build is around $1400, but that includes a mouse, speakers, cpu cooler, some fans, and a keyboard; roughly $200-$250 in stuff I could go without. My friend got a hybrid drive too rather than a combo of the SSD and the HDD. Also what do you think as far as fans and cooling? Are HDD coolers, CPU coolers, and chipset coolers all necessary? Lemme know what you guys think I could use some suggestions on the good and bad of my build. Not really flexible on my case either I just think its the sleekest case out there it is so awesome looking! Thanks in advance guys.

PS: Maybe you guys could help: Id love to build mine with a color scheme in mind, but it seems difficult. Id really like either a green or yellow color scheme if you have any ideas

The FX-8150(or any Bulldozer line) absolutely sucks for gaming purposes. If you really want an AMD build, best CPU to get is the FX-8320.

Aftermarket CPU coolers are only ever necessary if and when you are going to overclock. HDD coolers, no; the case fans should be enough. GPU coolers aren't necessary either since custom coolers from good brands are quite great.

You don't need 16gb of RAM for gaming, 8gb is more than enough - even that you won't max out.

That Fractal's a great casing. Really quiet.

There's a Seagate Barracuda 1TB right now on Shell Shocker. I believe it's the one with a 32mb cache size; only $49.99 so go grab it.
