Which internet security is best for windows 7

Hello,
I need advice on which anti virus/internet security to buy! Ours has run out. We use our laptop for storing itunes, facebook, twitter, downloads etc as well as stuff like doing cv's etc on. We've got windows 7, don't want to spend a fortune, only have one pc in the house and we don't use it for business and don't have kids using it. Also it's running so slow and always making a noise! We defrag the hard drive on a reg basis, anything else we can do

U can use Avast along with Malwarebytes and Comodo Firewall that is free, but got great results in defending your PC. And u can configure it to your satisfaction with ease.

Yes, and use the compressed air can to blow it out.

Do not use vacuum cleaner, because the static electricity issues.

Thanks for the help, which one of suggested security do you recommend? Are they really as good as spending £40 on norton security??? I'm proper rubbish with all that kinda stuff!

These days, the differences are mostly in the tech support.

But for free tech support u can come always here : )

And maybe the paid versions are in some cases better optimized for the speed and lightness on the system(maybe).

And if u feel like to buy the security, than just get the AV and use the free Comodo, because it beats in the security most payed versions!

I have used Microsoft Security Essentials since it came out with no issues. It is a free download. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials

I have found that Avast is the best, with Malwarebytes to run once a month.

Both found on Google and are free downloads.
