mini dv camcorders with msn as webcam

Hi I am presently experiencing a problem. I can not get
my Sony dcr-trv33 to work as a web cam with msn messanger
6.2.0137. I have read on the Internet that msn have a
problem with the mini dv format.

Quote: "Most webcams and webcam programs need VfW to
work, and firewire uses WDM, not VfW. Windows has in its
programming a facility to translate a VfW program to
output WDM, but not vice versa, so when you fire up your
webcam program, the odds are it will not recognize your
miniDV camcorder, connected by firewire"

My question is, is it possible for microsoft to come out
with a fix for that or is it out yet ?
