Need advice on a GPU for my gaming build.

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY:Intel HD graphics 4000,650W psu
OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:I5-3570k@4.5Ghz,8Gb DDR3 1866,Asus P8z77-v LK
PREFERRED WEBSITE:Newegg
OVERCLOCKING:Maybe
MONITOR RESOLUTION:1920x1080 with a 1920x1080 secondary(for web viewing while gaming)
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:Needs to run WoW on Ultra with 40-50fps,needs decent cooling.
Considered Cards:any Nvidia 600 series card(except 690) or any ATI 7000 series card(except 7990)

I agree with the 7970, get a GHz edition or the newer cards with powerboost or whatever in the hell they are calling it... I run a stock 7970, temps arnt bad, but, I'd prefer a aftermarket cooler. I clock the card @ 1080 & 1535 memory when gaming, so if you buy a newer card most of the core clock guess work is done for you, just bump the memory speed to 1500 or better !!! I Love love love the 7970.... 3dMark11, I get an 8610 score with a Bulldozer 8120 CPU !

well my main concern is running wow at the specified settings i dont play BF3 enough to need ultra settings,i was looking at the GTX 660Ti-670FTW but i haven't seen a benchmark for WoW with either cards. Id rather not spend the $500 if i dont have to if you know what i mean. I havent looked at any ATI cards but im open to anything really.

You would be wise to stick with the 660 Ti or 670. Every game on your list significantly favors Nvidia cards, and Borderlands 2 in particular is a GPU accelerated PhysX title that will perform much better on an Nvidia card.

I know it's not the 660 Ti or 670, but even a GTX 580 is faster in WOW than any AMD card.

graphics on bf3 are alteast twice as good as wow, and a gtx 660 ti runs bf3 at 59 fps on ultra, so i think either a 660 ti or gtx 670 would be perfect.

Thanks guys ill go with a 660ti now help me choose a manufacturer, this is my first build so ive never purchased a GPU before. I dont know what to look for from a manufacturer.
