I've been having quite a big issue with my screen or graphics card for the past month and a half. It started about a month after I received my new video card (MSi R7950 Twin Frozr 3GD5/OC) and I'm not 100% sure if it's the video card, the motherboard, the hard drive, or something else.
I've attached an image below showing what happens because I don't know how to properly describe it. It occurs, from what I've determined after a month of fiddling, mainly after I've played an extensive amount of time on a game and then either opening a video in Windows Media Player or a flash player in a browser. For example it started with Sleeping Dogs and now Borderlands 2. There have been different cases, for example putting my computer on sleep overnight and then when I resume in the morning and play a video it will do this, or like half an hour ago where I played about ten minutes of an indie game. These could be just random events. Also, if i close the video or browser after this happens and try to reopen it, i generally get a blue screen of death. It goes like this forever, only one my first screen... not my second.
I'm really at a loss what I should do. I've contacted MSi and they told me to change GPUs as it could be the motherboard, but I don't have another card. I thought it may be my Hauppauge Colossus capture card, but that turned out false. Maybe it's something else that I'm completely missing. I also tried turning off my slight overclock but still the same thing. Are there specific tests I could run to rule out things? I've run MSi Kombuster for two hours and Prime95 for a short time.
If anyone has run into a similar problem, can you please help me?
Thank you for your time.
